Handmade Nuno* Felt Cowl or Neck Warmer
The rich colors in this cowl make it an eye catching accent for winter fun. Although very lightweight, it is surprisingly warm. The cowl is made from sheer silk chiffon fabric with Superfine Merino wool, highly prized as one of the most comfortable wool fibers to wear. It is topped with white Tencel. Those are the shiny white fibers that wiggle their way down the neck warmer.
The cowl can be worn as a neck warmer, a headband with or without a felted flower accent, (sold separately).
NOTE: This cowl is best not used in place of a Corona virus face mask.
Care:
The cowl can be hand-washed in cool water with a mild soap, rinsed and laid flat to dry. Be careful not to agitate, machine wash or place in the dryer. Shape or block the cowl to measure 12” x 10-1/2” in diameter. It can also be left in a ‘scrunched’ condition, making it ready to go when dry.
*FYI Notes:
Nuno felting is the process of combining wool fiber with silk fabric to produce a strong but light weight item. It is also used when a fun texture is desired. The fact that wool shrinks and silk does not makes for an interesting rippled effect.
Keep in mind though, that felt is not stretchy.
